The public will be invited to explore these artworks and details about how AI can be used for art creation, with the pop-up on view for a limited time at the Museum. This hands-on experience will culminate in a pop-up exhibition showcasing the students’ work in the museum at the end of the Spring 2024 semester. In tandem with these lectures, Niagara University’s International Marketing (MKT 325) students will engage in a project to create their own AI-generated art, drawing inspiration from the Castellani Art Museum’s permanent art collection. Joining Sanchez is esteemed collector Michael Spalter, who has made significant contributions to the art world through various roles. Before Christie’s, Sanchez co-founded the generative art platform ARTXCODE and has worked with Warner Brothers, HBO, and Discovery on various web3 projects. Sanchez has been instrumental in fostering partnerships with significant artists and brands, including Beeple for Beeple Studios and Gucci for the “Future Frequencies” auction. Sebastian Sanchez of Christie’s Auction House will provide his perspective based on his extensive experience in the digital art sales arena. The second lecture, “AI and the Art Marketplace,” scheduled for March 6 at 1:30 p.m., will focus on the digital art market and how collectors view AI-integrated art.
